Some reasons why cases of sexual abuse and gender based violence are not reported are the following:
The person committed the crime is a relative or a very powerful person in the place where the abuse happened. They can pay the media or the media is afraid of them because they can do everything to the media when they let people know the wrong doings theyve committed.
Another reason is, the victim do not want others to know that he/she is a victim of such violence. Maybe, they are afraid of what the person who did that to them do something more and even kill them. Another reason is they do not want the society to judge them.
